Fresh Word – Peter’s Denial – May 2, 2026 Evangelist Pastor Barbara
Peter is a prime example of those who think they have it all together, only to find out they are not as deeply rooted in their beliefs as they thought.
Peter’s denial of Jesus is a significant event recorded in all four Gospels of the New Testament: Matthew 26:69-75, Mark 14:66-72, Luke 22:54-62, and John 18:15-18, 25 -27. This event highlights the human frailty and fear that can lead even the most devoted followers to falter.
Children, you need to strengthen your belief in Me today. The days are coming when your beliefs will be put to the fire. Will you be another Peter, or are you prepared to die for your belief in My Son and the Heavenly Realm?
Jesus tells Peter, “I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail,” in Luke 22:32 ESV.
Jesus addresses Peter (also called Simon) just before His arrest and crucifixion. Jesus says: “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers”.
Here, Jesus forewarns Peter of the coming trial in which he will deny Him three times, yet assures him that He has prayed for Peter’s faith to endure and be restored.
The verse emphasizes Jesus’ intercessory prayer for Peter, highlighting both the personal care Jesus has for His disciples and, [the future responsibility Peter will have to support and strengthen the other believers [after] his restoration.] This moment underscores the themes of human weakness, divine support, and redemption, showing that even when Peter falters, Jesus’ prayer ensures his faith will ultimately be renewed.

Always remember the end of Peter’s story. He did repent and witness for Me. Just as satan asked for Peter to sift him as wheat, the enemy has and still is doing the same to My Chosen vessels of honor.
If you failed the testing, do not stop. Do as Peter did, repent and strengthen your brethren. Your testimonies about your testing will bring others to Me. Follow My still small voice, not the taunting of the evil one.
Notice Jesus told Peter [and when you return]. That tells me Peter is going to fail. But Jesus did not leave Peter, [Jesus said, “I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail.”] [Have] past tense. The Father is doing the very same thing today.
BE ANOTHER PETER: STEP INTO THE GREATER GLORY, REPENT, RETURN, STRENGTHEN YOUR BRETHREN.
