Fresh Word – Recover All  – August 2, 2026 – Evangelist Pastor Barbara

When I say recover all, I mean recover all. Did David fight until all was recovered? Yes, he did. My children stop in the middle of recovery and never recover all that the Palmer and Cankerworm have stolen from them.

Children, arise out of the ashes, put on your full armor of God and march forward, reclaiming all that belongs to you. I am with you in this recovery. My Angelic army has already gone before you to fight for all that belongs to you and your loved ones. You are the armor bearer; fight until total victory is yours.

This is not the time to contemplate what you will do next; you should have already had the plan of battle all mapped out before the battle ever started.

Those who have rolled over and played dead, hoping the enemy would pass you by,  I say to you, arise up out of the ash pit and March forward with one thought: VICTORY on all sides, just not one or two.

What is your motive in this war? What tactics are you going to use? The battle plan is already laid out before you; now take up your sword and proceed forth, undaunted by the darkness round about you.

Defeat should never be on the lips of a true warrior. Just as David fought with all his might and determination, you must also. This is the time to recover all!

David strengthened himself by turning to the Lord, seeking His guidance, and recalling God’s faithfulness during times of great distress.

Context of David’s Strengthening

David’s moment of strengthening occurred during a severe crisis when the Amalekites raided Ziklag, burning the town and taking captive his wives, children, and possessions. His men were so distraught that they considered stoning him, blaming him for the disaster. Despite this overwhelming grief and pressure, the Bible states that David “strengthened himself in the LORD his God.” (1 Samuel 30:6)

This demonstrates that his source of resilience was spiritual rather than purely human.

 How David Strengthened Himself

Facing Distress Honestly: David acknowledged his grief and fear, allowing himself to weep and express sorrow rather than suppressing his emotions. This honest confrontation with pain was the first step in regaining strength.

Seeking God’s Presence: He asked the priest Abiathar to bring the ephod, a symbol of God’s presence, and inquired of the Lord about pursuing the Amalekites. This act of seeking divine guidance provided clarity and courage

Think About Such Things

Recalling God’s Faithfulness: David remembered God’s past deliverances, including victories over lions, bears, and enemies, reinforcing his trust that God would act again

Prayer and Reflection: He spent time in prayer and quiet reflection, maintaining an intimate connection with God, which helped him resist despair and make wise decisions.

Focusing on God’s Sovereignty: David’s strength came from trusting in God’s power and character rather than relying solely on his own abilities. This spiritual focus enabled him to act decisively and lead his men effectively.

Outcome

After strengthening himself in the Lord, David received guidance to pursue the Amalekites. He and his men successfully rescued all captives and recovered their possessions, illustrating that true strength and courage come from reliance on God.

 Lessons for Today

David’s example teaches that in times of crisis, one can strengthen oneself by:

Acknowledging emotions honestly

Seeking God’s presence and guidance

Remembering past faithfulness

Maintaining prayerful reflection

Trusting in God’s sovereignty

This approach provides resilience, clarity, and courage in the face of overwhelming challenge
