THE LORD IS STIRRING UP HOLY PROVOCATION

Alane Haynes

The Spirit of the Lord is moving upon His people, stirring to a Holy Provocation. He wants us to be provoked at the status quo in our lives spiritually, to be provoked over the evil in the world that is intent to destroy everything in line with God’s design! I heard by the Spirit of the Lord, “Holy provocation is designed to bring concentration unto consecration leading to Kingdom convocation.”

Holy Provocation – The Spirit of God provokes our conscience to remembrance of what He has told us to do; He stirs our spirit through conviction by the Logos or Rhema word; He blows upon the latent fire in our soul that has not yet been awakened when we see others moving in the things of the Spirit and realize there is something deep inside us that knows we too are called to greatness.

Concentration – He is moving, stirring, provoking us to bring about a concentration for His Kingdom. There is a focused intent, a narrowing of interests, a drying up of our satisfaction in lesser things, a determination to move out of distractions, an effectual grace to step out from under the weights and rise above in overcoming power found through turning to the Lord Jesus Christ! This concentration on Christ produces intimacy with Him, which leads to consecration.

Consecration – Abiding in greater intimacy with the Lord, we are becoming set apart unto Him. When we spend more time on eternal things, the Eternal One becomes more real to us; as we recognize Him we cannot help but be willing to live a life of consecration. He is the Holy One, our Creator, the Lover of our souls, the One who inhabits all of eternity, yet chooses to dwell with us and in us.

Kingdom Convocation – Consecration unto the Lord brings about a nation of Kings and Priests –a spiritual nation that works hand in hand with the angelic hosts. As we abide in the Lord and speak what He says, the angels move to bring it to pass. God will bring about a Kingdom convocation – a gathering, an assembling – unto the city of the Living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. The writer of the book of Hebrews exhorts us to raise our sights higher in chapter 12:22-29, and to recognize the importance of responding to Holy provocation.

“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than [that of] Abel. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more [shall not] we [escape], if we turn away from him that [speaketh] from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this [word], Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God [is] a consuming fire.” (Heb. 12:22-29)

The stirring and shaking is not over; it is intensifying. In June I heard, “There is a window of time open and acceleration for those who will enter in.” In September I heard “it is high time.”

“And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.” (Rom. 13:11-12)

The word sleep in the Greek means spiritual torpor, inactivity. The world is shaking and the enemy quaking because he knows what is coming! There is no time for spiritual inactivity! You were created for such a time as this, and God equips you in everything necessary to do His will (Heb. 13:21). Receive a fresh infilling of faith! It is high time to rise up and do what God has called us to do! Holy Spirit is stirring us to action, to provoke each other to love and good works (Heb. 10:24), and to stir up ourselves, praying in the Holy Ghost (Jude 1:20)!

Holy Provocation is moving us beyond our “normal,” to bring us into the fullness of His design for our lives. The Spirit of God is exposing that restlessness and discontent so we will cry out to Him because we are made for more. We are made for the High Calling of God in Christ Jesus (Phil. 3:12-14), to be conformed to the image of Christ (Gal. 4:19; Rom. 8:29); to do the greater works Jesus said we will do (Jn. 14:12); to walk in Godly character (Gal. 5:22-26; 2 Pet. 1:3-8); to live an overcoming life (1 Jn. 5:4-5)!

Holy provocation may be revealing your assignment! “Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.” (Acts 17:16)

Paul was provoked by the idolatry in Athens, and led to action! He began disputing with the religious leaders and philosophers, and from there preached the sermon at Mars Hill to those worshipping an unknown god.

The Spirit of the Lord is stirring many to be provoked by the enemy holding others captive – deceived by the devil and given over to idolatry, worldliness, vain ambition, pleasure seeking, and worse. The Kingdom of God is at hand! We cannot sit idly by when satan and his demons are running rampant to destroy all that God has created. There is a battle, and it’s not against people; it’s against God’s enemies!

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].” (Eph 6:12 KJV)

I hear the Lord saying, “I am provoking for concentration to move you into consecration, for I shall bring Kingdom convocation! Receive a fresh wind of My power; it is necessary for this hour. I am fanning embers into flame, from this time forward nothing is the same. What has distracted and hindered you shall be no longer, for My Spirit within you is being made stronger! The release of My Spirit in the words I give will bring freedom to those held captive in sin. There is a great number that is heeding My call; My Kingdom shall rise and strongholds of evil fall; I will be seen as Lord God Almighty in the midst of it all!”
