Obituary:  Nancy Weatherspoon

Nancy Marie Weatherspoon departed this life on April 17, 2025, at the age of 48, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be in our hearts.

Born on July 25, 1976, Nancy grew up in Delaware and graduated from Seaford High School. Known for her wit, warmth, and sharp humor, she was someone who could always make you laugh with her quick and smart remarks—a trait that many will remember fondly and miss dearly.

Nancy spent much of her days enjoying life’s simple pleasures, especially watching TV and spending time with family. Her love for horror films and her faithful dog, KJ, brought her joy and comfort. She also had a passion for 90’s R&B music, with Mariah Carey among her favorite artists, and she possessed a beautiful singing voice that added to her spirit’s uniqueness.

Nancy is proceeded in death by her maternal grandmother Larene Weatherspoon; Uncles Charles and Carlies Weatherspoon and Aunt Lurine Weatherspoon.

Nancy is survived by her two children, Joshua Weatherspoon of Milford, DE, and Chylea Weatherspoon of Houston, TX; her mother, Amie Weatherspoon of Magnolia, DE; her grandchild, Nicolai Weatherspoon; her siblings, Erica Weatherspoon and Azariah Weatherspoon, both of Magnolia, DE; her grandfather, Charles Weatherspoon of Milford, DE and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews and friends.

Nancy will be remembered for her love of family, her characteristic sharp tongue, and her unwavering dislike of the cold—even as a child. Her laughter, warmth, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Blessings,

The Lighthouse Inc., Church
