Utah District Bans Bible In Elementary And Middle Schools ‘Due To Vulgarity Or Violence’

Greetings Lighthouse Inc., Church Family,

Just as {PRAYER} was taken out of schools by one woman; one woman is doing this. How much more is the church going to take before they turn from their wicked ways and pray?

In Christ,

Pastor Barbara

A school district in Utah has banned the bible in elementary and middle schools due to its descriptions of sex and violence.

According to Fox News, Davis School District, located north of Salt Lake City, the bible has been shelved for students until they reach high school. This isn’t the first ban of its kind in the state, as schools in Utah previously banned several age-inappropriate books in 2022.

The district is now evaluating whether the Book of Mormon, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints’ sacred text, is worthy of keeping in school libraries.

The Bible was banned when the school district received a petition from a parent to have the holy book removed from school libraries in a petition on Dec. 11 of last year.

The petition, where the parent considers the Bible a “sex-ridden” book, also mocked the conservative parent coalition Utah Parents United. The group sought to remove inappropriate sexual books from schools.

“Utah Parents United left off one of the most sex-ridden books around: The Bible. You’ll no doubt find that the Bible has ‘no serious values for minors’ because it’s pornographic by our new definition,” read the petition.

The complaint followed the passing of the state’s “Sensitive Materials in Schools” law enacted in May which “prohibits certain sensitive instructional materials” if they contain “explicit sexual arousal, stimulation, masturbation, intercourse, sodomy or fondling.”

“Get this PORN out of our schools,” the parent wrote with an eight-page listing of “offensive” Bible passages attached to the petition. “If the books that have been banned so far are any indication for way lesser offenses, this should be a slam dunk.”

The story received mixed responses on social media, with liberals calling it “fair game” after some states decided to ban books with homosexual themes, while conservatives called it an attack on Christianity.

“I’ve never seen a Bible in school. Shouldn’t they be banning the Koran too if they are going to push this narrative? Oh wait. If they do that the Muslim community would finally speak up and turn against the board right?” wrote one Twitter user.

“Ban all religious books in schools. They should not be there. That’s what the church is for. Thus Separation of Church and State,” tweeted another.
