Prophetic Dream #2 – September 14, 2022 through Rev. Brett. Connell

I also had another dream following this one. In this second dream, a few friends of mine were with me at some kind of outdoor gathering in a public place. It just looked like patio tables set up along a stretch of park, with a parking lot across the distance and a large gate that guarded the only entrance and exit.

There was a group of men sitting two tables over from us, being rowdy and consuming some alcohol it seemed. My friends and I were sitting at our table just talking about different things and enjoying the day. That’s when a man came in that had some physical deformities that weren’t easy to hide and were a cause of embarrassment for him. I believe the man was with his son, and they both sat down at the empty table in-between us and the group of rowdy guys.

After a few moments, the other guys started laughing and making fun of that guy to themselves at first, but then they openly started verbally attacking this guy with his kid. I had a very uneasy feeling about this, and I told my friends they need to be cautious right now and prepare to get up and leave, but in a tactical fashion, if this gets ugly.

I felt in my intuition that this guy had a gun, and that he was already tired of life and was essentially just waiting for that “straw that broke the camel’s back” moment, and that someone was going to pay the ultimate price for all the suffering he’s incurred in his lifetime. I told my friends that if things go south, we should all get up and immediately go around the corner of the building beside us so that we are quickly out of line-of-sight. From there, we go down to the tree line and flee behind the bushes and trees where we are mostly out of view. Then, we’ll wrap around to the parking lot and collectively get in our vehicles and be the first to the main gate. Whoever gets to the gate first, gets out and opens it and we all go through like a convoy.

Well, sure enough after a few moments the guy whips out a .44 Magnum Revolver. He points it directly under his chin, making it look like he’s about to attempt suicide. But it was more of a statement if anything, to those other guys making fun of him, but he never pulled the trigger. It made me feel like he doesn’t care anymore about what happens to himself, but also, he doesn’t care what happens to them either. The red flag was already out, and I immediately motioned to my friends to execute our tactical exit strategy. We did everything we talked about, and got to the main gate. At this point the dream becomes blurry, but I do remember escaping successfully.

During our escape, the situation back there was full of tension and anxiety. Some people were late noticing what was happening and were scrambling out of fear and panic to get away, and others hung around the scene to witness the drama and record everything or livestream it on their cellphones. I vaguely remember something wrong with the gate and it didn’t open when we expected it to, and I remember feeling a frustration because we had planned, prepared, and moved first but had encountered this issue which almost nullified our planning and strategy.

What I took away from this dream was that sometimes, despite our best efforts, things might not go as we planned. What are we going to do in those moments when we become entrapped like everyone else, even when we had intuition and discernment beforehand? Will we panic, curse God, or exercise our faith and trust in the midst of “the bad goes to the worst”? Sometimes you’re just ordained to hit rock bottom in a situation, for a purpose. No one likes hearing that, but it does happen and it is true.

The other thing I took from that dream is that we need to sharpen and fine tune our discernment with God. We do this by daily asking for more wisdom and discernment, and providing a welcoming heart for the Holy Spirit to do this through us. God operates through different ways such as a gut feeling, a sudden and informative direct knowledge {intuition}, a small voice in your mind that speaks truth, or even through the very lips of the person next to you that gives you goosebumps or makes you feel like “the puzzle is now completed”.

We had discernment and wisdom from the beginning of this situation, and it was wise to discuss this amongst each other and formulate an escape plan. If we were crazy and didn’t need it, then so be it, nothing would happen and we would be alright. But if our gut feeling did come true, we would instantly and immediately know what to do and begin executing the plan – as we did. I think it’s important to pay attention to these gut feelings and have someone nearby to us that we can talk to about these kinds of things. The public is dangerous, and it’s getting worse, and the more you read about people doing even more evil acts of violence in broad daylight, the more real it’s getting.

I also believe in God’s protection and I do trust Him to keep me and my family safe – but there is also sound wisdom we can practice, using common sense and a level head to do things on our end that keep us safe and prevent us from stepping into harm or danger that could be prevented, if possible. We should trust and rely on God for our protection, but if the Holy Spirit is giving little Johnny a gut feeling to wear body armor, then he should do so out of obedience. If Jane is nudged by the Spirit with an idea to get a concealed carry permit and purchase a 9mm handgun, then let Jane do so without judgment or condemnation. Johnny and Jane both continue to trust God for their protection, and their actions are not affecting their faith or trust in God, but rather they are displaying obedience to the Spirit that works in and through them.

Does God know one day they might be shot at, or need to use that handgun? Perhaps. {Yes, God knows all things}, but maybe the purpose is to deter someone from attempting a gross evil, once they see someone wearing body armor or carrying a handgun. What if Johnny or Jane is in the right place at the right time, and through their obedience, the Spirit of God thwarts a demon from overtaking someone and using them to rob a convenience store, or worse? We may never know, but we must prayerfully use the wisdom and discernment God gives us and communicate this to others around us to fulfill God’s purposes in whatever is happening.

The world is getting darker, and we’re going to need new and different strategies to combat this evil – both spiritually and physically. This all boils down to getting closer to God and forsaking all sin in our lives so we can be so close to God that we hear Him and follow His voice. His Glory is coming, and will cover and protect us from the gross darkness, but many others out there in the world won’t have that readily available to them and they will want it – so we must be well rounded and learned in His ways, so we can teach others to live as we have been taught to live.
