The Women of Color Meeting has been postponed.

We will announce the new date at a later time.

As for Sunday’s Services at this time, we are still on, but we will advise you of the decision for Sunday as we see the progression of the storm.

The Storm is developing and the National Weather Service has posted a new update as of 3pm today. (See this report below)

The Governor has Declared a State of Emergency with Level 2 Driving Restrictions in Kent and Sussex Counties. He also declared New Castle to have Level 1 Driving Restrictions. (See Below Full Details)

…BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO
7 PM EST SATURDAY…

  • WHAT…Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of
    10 to 18 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • WHERE…Portions of central and southern New Jersey and
    southern Delaware.
  • WHEN…From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Saturday.
  • IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible.
    Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
    Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow is expected to begin this evening,
    with snow becoming heavy after midnight. The most likely time
    for blizzard conditions is late tonight through midday Saturday.
    Blizzard conditions are primarily expected at or within a few
    miles from the coast. Falling snow will diminish west to east
    Saturday afternoon, but blowing snow may continue into Saturday
    night.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must
travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded,
stay with your vehicle.

State of Delaware Emergency Declaration Details:

In preparation for the severe winter storm expected to impact Delaware, I’ve issued a State of Emergency in Kent and Sussex counties and authorized the Delaware National Guard to help with storm response.

⚠️ Beginning at 10:00 p.m. tonight, Friday, January 28, there is a level 2 driving restriction in Kent and Sussex counties, and a level 1 driving warning in New Castle County.

LEVEL 2 DRIVING RESTRICTION (Kent and Sussex counties):

➡️  No person may operate a motor vehicle on Delaware roadways, except for persons designated as “essential personnel.”

➡️ Travel on roadways is restricted to certain state employees, emergency workers, first responders, health care workers, utility workers, snow removal operators, private sector food and fuel deliveries, and individuals already approved through DEMA’s State of Emergency Driving Waiver program.

LEVEL 1 DRIVING WARNING (New Castle County):

➡️  Avoid traveling on roadways, unless there is a significant safety, health, or business reason to do so.

➡️  Drive with extreme caution.
