Sukkot: “OUR KING HAS COME TO TABERNACLE WITH US:  Get Ready for His Glory”

Hebrew year 5784 -or – 2024 in our modern calendar

What is Sukkot?

Note:  The Feast of Tabernacles, which is called in Hebrew is called:  Sukkot.

It is celebrated on the 15th day of the 7th month (Israeli month) for 7 days to the Lord

You shall thus celebrate it as a feast unto the Lord.

It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations…

You shall live in booths for 7 days.  (Leviticus 23:  23 – 42).

There are many wonderful Christian and messianic ministries, but the 2 ministries below have programs on TV (Daystar, TBN), online, books and resources, if you want further teaching, from highly prophetic and dynamic soul-winners.

The Nuts n’ Bolts of Sukkot /Feast of Tabernacles

Sukkot is the last Fall Feast Israeli’s celebrate.

It is fun, festive, and is about praising the Lord for His faithfulness, deliverance and provision, throughout every generation, even now.

According to Leviticus 23:  34, Jewish households are to build a Sukkah, or temporary booth or shelter, during this time.

It is built of wood and plants and overlaid with palms, branches, myrtle and decorative fall fruit, citron, apples, grapes. Color and sparkling things to remind of the stars and brightness of Gods sky overhead. (Which is why my little sukkah sparkles).

Think of the celebration when King Jesus returns in the air for us – so we can tabernacle with Him forever…

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpets of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord” 1st Thessalonians 4:  16 – 17

  • As I mentioned earlier, the waving of the lulavis an important part of the Sukkah experience.
  • I believe this not only honors God, it delights Him, as the direction the branches are waived up to down, side to side, denotes the very thing that would bring us salvation.

(the wooden cross + our Messiah hung on to redeem us).

The lulav is a gathering of branches – 4 species found in Israel. In fact, the 4 species I have here – I ordered from Israel.

You’ll see the Palm branch, the myrtle, the willow, and the Etrog (Citron fruit, looks like a dimpled lemon, but oh – so sweet to smell).

This was commanded in Leviticus 23:  40 to wave before the Lord.

To note:  When Jesus rode the donkey into Jerusalem, remember the people were waving palms at Him (Matthew 21:  8 – 9)?   Father God knew this when centuries before He commanded this Feast to be done.

God always takes the past and present into account when He tells us to do something.

He is always 10 steps ahead of history and mankind.

In the waving of the Lulav – it is held up – done in a 360 direction, to show God is everywhere:  above us, encircling us.

This reminds me of Psalm 139:  7 – 12, which says where can we flee from your presence?

  1. An interesting side note here:  King Jesus celebrated a tradition during the Feast of Tabernacle called Hoshana Rabbah.
  2. During this ceremony, the priests would march from the pool of Siloam to the altar at the Temple in Jerusalem carrying a pitcher of water.
  3. (If you ever go on a trip to Israel, the tour guide will take you to the exact place and re-tell the history. It is amazing 2,000 years later, it is still there, in rugged form).
  4. They (priests) would then pour the pitcher of water onto the altar. Through this act, the in the Spring. This practice also prophetically showed that God would pour out His Spirit at the coming of Messiah.
  5. I personally believe when Yeshua cried out “Is anyone thirsty – come to me”.He must have been bursting from within – as He saw the lame and poor hoping to get touched by the rain, and here He was, the living water of heaven.
  6. I don’t think he whispered, I think He cried out: IT’s ME, I AM HERE. I AM THE LIVING WATER. COME TO ME. (John 7: 37).
  7. It was on the LAST DAY OF THE FEAST Jesus cried out. We are at the last hour, little children.
  8. The Spirit of the Lord is crying out to us: GO GET THE LIVING WATER NOW! The Time is now. LIVING WATERS ARE WAITING FOR YOU
  9. Jesus was letting those with ears to hear that He was the Messiah – He announced He had the prophesied living water. But all the miracles, all the signs and wonders, was not enough to open blind eyes that did not want to see God in the flesh, standing in front of them.
  10. Times have changed, the human heart hasn’t. Many still are asleep and don’t hear the trump of His love calling out to them. Pray ears hear and eyes open.
  • In summary, if you go to Zechariah 14: 16, it shows the Feast of Tabernacles being celebrated in the Millenium.
  • Scripture says “any who are left of the ALL THE NATIONS that went against Jerusalem (during Armageddon) will go up from year to year to worship the King (Yeshua/Jesus), the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles (Zech.14: 16).
  • *** From theSiddur (a Jewish book of prayers, scripture and psalms that are sung), Ill now turn to my Siddur (in Hebrew, so don’t have copies), and I will sing the short few lines of a prayer called V’Nay Mahr –
  • I will tell you what it means in English and sing it in Hebrew. About 1 minute song/prayer.
  • It is about when Jesus returns, the saints with Him, He defeats evil, sin and the devil at Armageddon, and HE ALONE IS VICTORIOUS.
  • Yeshua no doubt sang this song, sung in Jerusalem at this holiday.
  • I like to think it touches His heart when we sing it to Him.
  • Close your eyes and picture King Jesus. HE is rejoicing over you.

*To the folks online, you can partake of this too – stretch out your hands – that’s for you too! Just believe you’ve received. And after everyone has walked through the line, I ask the ministers up front to walk through themself– one by one – so we can pray for everyone in room.

(Timewise – a prayer fire line makes more sense tonight. So just receive).

Thank you for coming. BE BLESSED IN JESUS AS YOU LEAVE REJOICING with SUKKOT BLESSINGS.

Shalom, thank you. Rev. Elizabeth Cassutto  ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
