Ophelia’s Musings

● We are all in our homes during this storm weekend. Yesterday- I felt quickened to look up the name Ophelia: it means aid or benefit.  The name was referenced in one of Shakespeare’s plays; Hamlet. Ophelia was the tragic heroine. Somehow, I saw that connection between Ophelia and America. What will become of this once noble heroine to the nations? Only time will tell.

● Often our God uses [or purposes] even the weather – to get our attention. This is Yom Kippur weekend. Several colliding emotions at this moment; not sad, not exuberant. Just deeply reflective- especially after seeing some urgent prophetic-watchman-intercessor prayer posts circling the digital globe. There is no getting around it: we are in a time of suddenlies.

●Weather events, solar events, political and global events, national events…where’s it all headed. What do we discern? Whom do we heed? Where do we look? Whom do we believe? It all points down a one-way street: To The Cross. A 1-way street. Always at the ✝️

●Yom Kippur (day of FASTING & REPENTANCE is this weekend). To me, this is a God set-up if you can but see it. God is wanting families, peoples to “take an account” of their relationship to Him, and others. Time out. God in.

● Storms and weather and disrupting  planned life-events shows we really aren’t in control of anything. Against tsunamis, earthquakes, wars, hurricanes, even asteroids, it becomes shockingly clear how we are but dust – we control nothing. We came into this world with nothing, we leave with nothing. Except our souls.  Our soul is like our life’s depository- where the real gold and silver is hidden. What is unseen with the naked eye is what is most valuable to God. And one day we will realize nothing on the outside mattered. It’s what hidden within that counts into eons of unending eternity.

● Buy GOLD today – the advertisers say. The keenest and wealthiest investor in the universe counsels us saying ‘buy gold from me refined in the fire’ Revelation 3:18. Are we listening? 

●Our body’s safe-deposit box [our souls] is the sum total of who and what we are on this earth – for the time we are here. It’s fiduciary value is worth more than all the silver and gold yet to be mined on earth. Yet – where are these, our treasures, stored? If not mixed with faith, and hidden in the living Christ, we will be bankrupt on that day of His appearing. The real Gold Card.

●It’s a lot to ponder. A heavy word. A necessary word. Especially now – let’s all make sure our spiritual house is in order. If you are in Christ – be in peace. If not, the storm is here. Seek shelter immediately in the blood and forgiveness of Yeshua. 

●This is Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) weekend. If only millions of the sons of Jacob knew that swinging a chicken around your neck this Yom Kippur won’t save you. Throwing shekels in an offering box wont either.

● To the rich, the elite, those who have some world’s power (for now), which is just an illusion: money and influence won’t save you. It will testify against you on that day. Likewise, the poor who hate God are still poor, and need to acquire the riches of faith. They need the hope of knowing a just, merciful Lord. For all flesh- including you and me – only a contrite and broken spirit will save any and all of us. Psalm 51:17 

✝️ Only a Shepherd can save you and me. Why look anywhere else?
