Lay Down Your Life

Did you ever wonder what it would be like if there never was a Jesus? Have you ever considered what happened at the cross and even before the cross? When is My Body going to understand the sacrifice made on the cross? The humiliation, the cursing, beatings, and even the mocking once He was on the cross.

Do you think this was easy? He felt every crack of the whip, every cut of the glass. He felt every slap on the face. The crown of thorns was no easy task to bear. He was spat upon. He was a man who felt every cruel blow and heard every word thrown at him.

Why do you think He was void of feeling? The pain of rejection was real. He was lonely. He had feelings just as you have, but He still went to the cross. He endured all the humility and dishonor so that you could be set free by His blood shed at Calvary.

Calvary was real. Calvary was hard, but Jesus, the man you reject repeatedly, endured all of it, so you would be set free from sin. Would you have endured the cross? Would you have said: Father forgive them, for they know not what they do, as you hung on a cross with nails holding you there. Do you fully understand the agony of the cross?

Do you fully understand what kind of Love kept Jesus on the cross? He loved you totally and completely and willingly laid His life down for all humanity.

Matthew 26:52-54 KJV  Jesus said he could have called upon many thousands of angels to help him.   However, Jesus chose not to accept help from angels.  Luke 23:34 KJV  Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Paul suffered the same as Jesus but did not hang on the cross. He was beheaded. Paul, like Jesus, laid down his life for all to see Jesus.

I have called you to be fishers of men, but are you? Peter laid down his life so the world could see Jesus. He knew his fate, but he still willingly laid down his life.

Laying down one’s life brings miracles. You are saying you want to walk in the miraculous,

are you willing to lay down your life and take up your cross daily?
